Welcome to Crafted Keto

My name is Annette Stephenson and I am a board certified naturopathic doctor. My passion is helping people live healthier, longer, better quality lives through lifestyle and nutrition.

Through my career I have helped many people who have struggled with weight, hormone imbalances, inflammation and other health issues. Although every person is different, the human body has some innate abilities to balance things out for a long while. Eventually, the Standard American Diet (SAD) takes its toll on almost everyone.

This image from Cleveland College shows how causes of death have changed in the last 100 years.

As you can see the top 4 causes of death in 2015 are completely preventable.  Through lifestyle modification and education I hope to help you, and your loved ones live a better, longer, happier and healthier life.

Ketosis, (burning fat) is a natural state for the body. Cavemen had the ability to switch from a sugar burner to a fat burner as needed, depending on food supply and environment. Modern man has lost the ability to use this innate mechanism, due to advances in refrigeration, cooking, preserving and the ability to have foods out of season. Easy access to food and not having a calorie deficit, with less physical activity has changed our health.

The Standard American Diet has been determined to no longer be healthy. Changes must be made if we wish to live without the diseases of the 20th century. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., accounting for almost 1 in every 4 deaths, and affecting significantly more men than women.

The top 5 preventable illnesses as per Medscape.com Feb 2017

  1. Heart Disease
  2. Cancer
  3. Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease (COPD, Asthma etc.)
  4. Stroke
  5. Alzheimers
